The hardest part was coming up with a plausible-but-wrong Big Plan for Kimberly.
My, but this is an odd jump. First Nina is there. Then next comic she's gone. And Brisbane decides to investigate the ghost. I like this comic. I like the previous one. I just don't think they work well, one after the other. I probably had a few drafts and delays before, then decided "Screw it. It just happens". It's not always a good idea, but you can usually get away with it and sometimes it needs to be done.
Did I intend for Brisbane's line in the first panel to be spoken quietly to himself? I think so. She's not telepathic.
I really like the job Orochi did in the second and third panels, the split panel implying eye contact between Brisbane and Nina.
So, yes. Nina started off very standoffish. If you follow along, you'll notice that she gets slightly revised every time she appears.
